Worcester Open Studios 2025 — Venue 88
In August 2025, Worcester Arts Collective took part in the countywide Worcestershire Open Studios, the region’s biggest free visual arts event. Celebrating its 10th year, the festival featured 167 artists across 105 venues.
At Venue 88 (4 Edgar Street, Worcester), eight of our artists opened their doors to the public across both weekends and the mid-week open day. The result was extraordinary: over 400 visitors joined us to explore printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and mixed-media works, all within a vibrant, curated space in the heart of the city.
Visitor Feedback
The response was overwhelming. Visitors described the exhibition as:
- “Profound”
- “Professional”
- “Inspiring”
One guest captured it perfectly:
“A beautifully curated space with real depth—powerful work and generous conversations.”
Highlights
- 400+ visitors with many returning on the second weekend to bring friends and family.
- Multiple sales and commissions, alongside new enquiries for upcoming workshops.
- Strong community engagement, with long conversations, live demos, and shared creative insights.
- Central location just minutes from Worcester Cathedral, making Venue 88 a popular stop on the Open Studios trail.
Why It Matters
Our aim was to showcase Worcester Arts Collective’s values-led practice to new audiences and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the city. The results show what happens when artists collaborate in open, authentic ways: connections are made, creativity is shared, and the wider community benefits.
Looking Ahead
Following the success of 2025, we’re already planning for 2026—pairing disciplines in new ways (print + ceramics, sculpture + works on paper) and building on the sense of openness and inspiration that defined Venue 88.
